Plot, if any- A long time ago, the horses who lived in the land of Sapphire Valley lived in peace and happiness. Life was good in the plentiful valley; it was considered one of the most exalted places in the land. The horses were ruled over by a wise old mare named Kurina, and under her rules, things were good and life was happy.
But as Kurina grew older and her health deteriorated, the peaceful unity was starting to crumble, as friendships hit rocky patches and disagreements increased. And then one day, the almost unthinkable happened; their beloved elderly leader died.
The search for a new leader instantly began, and two prospective horses rose from the ranks. One was named Lissena, a young mare who had been one of Kurina’s biggest supporters. Lissena believed that the old ways of living in peace and happiness, cut off from the world outside Sapphire Valley, should be held onto. The second prospective was named Muerilo, a stallion who had been the cause of most of the rockiness leading up to Kurina’s death. He believed it was time for a change, thought they had been living the same way for too long. He thought it was time for Sapphire Valley to try to conquer other lands, to weed out the weaklings among them.
Both horses had a large band of supporters; many wanted to remain living in happiness and peace, but a surprising amount supported Muerilo’s bloodthirstiness. Arguments went on for over a month, day and night, each side trying to win.
The arguments grew more and more heated as time passed, and the horses of each side started claiming their own lands; the supporters of Lissena sticking to the beatified parts of the valley, Muerilo’s troops moving into the darker, nastier parts.
One day Lissena’s biggest supporter was found dead, and this started an all out battle between the two sides. Horses fell down quickly, wounded or dead, the unity that had once existed all but forgotten.
On the third day of this giant battle, a huge storm hit the valley. The horses remaining ran in terror for cover from the sheets of rain and lighting that wouldn’t stop, and the gales of wind that kept blowing.
When the storm eventually passed, the horses crept out and were horrified by what they saw; while parts of their land were somewhat spared and would grow back to be their original, beautiful selves, other parts were utterly destroyed. And worst of all, the bodies of their friends and families littered the ground, including those of Lissena and Muerilo. The legendary Sapphire Valley was a place of death and destruction. Horrified, the remaining horses flew and scattered to the winds, never to return.
And so the land of Sapphire Valley became a place of fabled beauty in fairytales that mothers told their young foals. For hundreds of years, the valley was deserted, and in this time, parts of the land grew back to beauty. But other parts remained ugly and dark, a remaining stamp of Muerilo’s horses.
But now, the land of Sapphire Valley has been rediscovered. With Shadow and Fromo to lead the horses of the light side, and [dark leaders still needed] in charge of the tainted ones, the old battle looks set to flare up again. And when it does, which side will you be on?
